Lenori is a member of the Greencloaks and their most talented visionary. Her spirit animal is a rainbow ibis named Myriam. As a Greencloak, she helps train new recruits, as well as being the Greencloak’s healer, mental health therapist, and seer. She also appears in the Spirit Animals Game.

Appearance[]

Lenori is an Amayan woman with long blue hair. She is thin and short. She was noted to have a fragile look. She wears a simple dress and her cloak draped over her shoulder. She also wears many beaded bracelets and necklaces and has strands of beads as well as feathers in her hair.

Overview[]

Lenori is kind and wise, and seems to have a fondness for animals, as shown when she says “Hello, there! Oh, sorry Keeper, I was talking to your spirit animal.” She also seems to have a sense of humor, as shown in “You might be able to scratch Olvan with those” and “Try not to use that in the castle.” She also seems to be unaware of Keith’s crush on her, since when she sees him sad and carrying wilted flowers, she asks if he and his spirit animal were fighting, not realizing the flowers had been for her.

Wild Born[]

Lenori makes her first appearance at Meilin’s Nectar ceremony. Meilin said that her feathers gave her away as an Amayan.

Back at Greenhaven, Tarik states that Lenori believes that Abeke and Uraza are still alive. Conor asks if Lenori was the reason the Greencloaks were able to identify him and the other kids. Tarik confirms this, revealing that Lenori is a gifted visionary. Rollan, however, doesn’t think Lenori’s foresight abilities are that unique since she couldn’t prevent the Conquerors from getting to Abeke first.

Blood Ties[]

Lenori is mentioned a few times by Xue and is revealed to have been trained by her. Xue says that Lenori wasn’t a good student. Tarik also mentions Lenori, saying she isn’t the only seer because the Conquerors have a seer, too.

Against the Tide[]

Lenori had a prophecy about Mulop. She aided the Heroes of Erdas and Tarik during the journey.

Lenori asks Abeke if everything is alright. She nods, then asks if they could stop in Nilo. Lenori understands her and knows that she’s worried about her family. She reveals to Abeke that Conquerors have overrun the continent of Nilo. This makes her even more worried. In Lenori’s dream that Mulop sent her, the whales sing, and the darkness turns blue. She realizes she is underwater; she sees the light above her. Then, bubbles spiral past her, each containing a word but they all pop when she touches them. The words are then blurred ink on her skin. It was like a pattern.

Rise and Fall[]

When Abeke comes back to Greenhaven, Lenori brings the boys, Conor and Rollan to see Abeke. Shane is also there which upsets them. Shane reveals himself to be the Devourer. Lenori tries to stop him and fails. Hinting that she is not a good fighter.

The Evertree[]

Lenori talks to Conor about his dreams after he sleepwalks in the rain. She is at a meeting in Greenhaven, sitting next to Tarik’s empty chair.

Immortal Guardians[]

Lenori takes care of the Evertree. She notices that it is rotting. She checks it later and the rotting patch is about the same size as her. The Evertree is dying.

Broken Ground[]

Lenori tells Olvan that Conor, Meilin, and Takoda are safe underneath the Evertree. He writes it for her and sends the message with her yellow ribbon.

The Wildcat’s Claw[]

In the prologue of the book, there is Lenori’s perspective. She is in the Oathbound’s prison. She paces back and forth in her cramped quarters. Lenori hadn’t been in contact with any of the Greencloaks since being imprisoned. She worries about Olvan, who had been turned to stone by Brunhild the Merry’s stone viper after being bitten by it. Although thanks to her rainbow ibis spirit animal, Myriam, she was able to sense Olvan’s presence. He was in pain, but alive. She reflects on the happenings of the Wyrm Wars and what came to pass at the Citadel in Heart of the Land. She checks to make sure no one was near, and, after confirming that, indeed, no one was, she releases Myriam from passive state. She sits down on the cold stone floor and pushes her thoughts out of her mind and relaxes. She sees a hazy image “float[ing]” before her. Lenori focuses, finding a ship traversing the ocean. Concentrating harder, she sees the Four and two others in a small room. She looked at Rollan to find the Heart of the Land hanging from his neck. Lenori hears someone approaching her cell and exits the vision, coming to her regular senses. She sends Myriam back into passive state right before two Oathbound warriors dressed in black entered the room. It was Brunhild and another Oathbound woman that Lenori didn’t recognize. The unknown woman summons a servant, who promptly comes in carrying a tray with bread, dates, and cheese. Lenori hadn’t eaten in a while, and she had to force herself to not eat some.
